Introduction to Delrin
Delrin is a thermoplastic with high tensile strength and low friction properties, commonly known as POM (Polyoxymethylene). Due to its outstanding toughness, wear resistance, creep resistance, and warp resistance, it is the most acceptable replacement for metal. Delrin is also sensitive to several substances, including solvents and hydrocarbons.
Components made of Delrin hardly absorb moisture and have very excellent weather resistance. The excellent machinability of the pieces aids in their dimensional stability. Therefore, it is the ideal material for insulating and moisture-exposed components like pumps, fittings, electric insulators, and many others.
